I think what the girl two posts above, to whom I deny any connection whatsoever,
is trying to say is that it depends on what you do and how you transport the message.
I RPd an outlaw n 2012 and I had absolutely no issues with my public image.
People loved me.
When you are an ******* people simply will call you an *******.
RP in general is still on it's way of getting pushed,
even though the failures of CODE are doing their counterproductive crap.

Interesting approach.
I can assure you that lying and roleplaying have nothing in common.
You are having a superficial view on this.
Telling a lie creates a conflict in his mind,
while a roleplayer doesn't. A roleplayer doesn't lie at all.
The common liar can be easily caught by clues his body expresses,
in form of twitching muscles, a slight variation of his tone,
a sudden but slight change of usual vocabulary, ......
... due to the conflict he creates between actual and makeup reality.
It is extremely easy to catch a liar, even in textform only!!
A liar twists reality to something it isn't,
while a roleplayer accepts a completely different reality as his own.

Hard for me to respond to this one.
I can tell you that I met quite a few roleplayers who are doing it for a while already ...
... and I catch incongruencies (isthataword?) between their character and their real persona.
I caught myself being angry at a liar, until I realised that he simply failed at roleplaying.
Bad rolplayers? Not necessarily.
On a level of Erica Dusette? Not by a mile.
I can not really answer any better. Complicated.
One doesn't necessary need to know a person to spot lies.
I think a big issue for me to responding to this is
your completely inadequate use of the word "strange".
This comes from the fact that you don't really know how to spot liars...
... yeah I dare saying that without meaning it offensive.
The reason why I say it's superficial btw, is because it is.
That's not individualism.
Analogy:
People say sugar is bad for teeth.
That's wrong. It's a superficial view on the matter.
Sugar doesn't do **** to teeth,
but the bacteria who process the sugar create an acid that destroys it.
Imagine I'm the dentist here, who successfuy holds up a language barrier
that allows him to roleplay a person that doesn't know how to properly express himself.
And that grammar ... oh god that grammar .....
